Regular exercise plays an important part in remaining active, maintaining stamina, flexibility and in general well-being. In partnership with the Fitsteps scheme offered by Maldon District Council, trained Health Walkers lead regular walks around Burnham and Southminster [alternate weeks].
Walks are designed at your pace generally over a 2 to 2.5 mile distance.
This valuable activity combats social isolation, enables you to meet new friends and encourages you to undertake regular exercise that you may not do alone. - Programme of walks of a suitable length lasting an average of between 45 mins – 1 ½ hours
- Suitable terrain for all
- Routes risk assessed
- Front & back leaders so you can walk at your own pace
- Opportunity to progress to longer walks
- Socialise and meet people
Participants will need to wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes.
